SLS 3D Printing — FAQs

Selective Laser Sintering fuses fine nylon powder layer by layer without support structures, making it ideal for durable, complex, end-use parts — especially geometries that would be difficult or impossible with FDM or resin.

Nylon PA12 and other engineering-grade powders, known for strength, durability and chemical resistance.

The surrounding unsintered powder itself supports the part as it prints, which means SLS can produce complex internal features, snap-fits and interlocking assemblies in a single print.

Typically 3–7 days, reflecting the more involved process (powder bed heating, printing, cooling and depowdering) compared with FDM or resin.
